The Pearl is a story of personal struggle. It is a story of unrealised hopes story ends in tragedy. It is the story of a family whose hope of crossing the edge from poverty to riches or from grass to grace almost becomes a reality when a young pearl fisherman, Kino, finds a great pearl. In the process of safeguarding this treasure, so many misfortunes befall Kino's family which comprises his wife Juana and newborn son. Moses Nangulu Is an experienced teacher of English and Literature at Alliance Girls' High School, an Examiner with the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) in English Paper Two (Comprehension, Literary Appreciation and Grammar) and a facilitator in teachers and students' seminars and workshops for English and Literature in secondary schools. Currently, he is an Assistant Lecturer at Kisii University in the Department of Communication and Media.
Mutei Benedict is an experienced teacher of English and Literature in English having taught for more than nine years. He has a B.A. in Philosophy and is currently pursuing B. Ed (English and Literature) at Mt. Kenya University. He is currently a teacher of English and Literature at New Light Senior Girls', Kajiado County.
