Florence Kamaitha is a change maker, a girl champion, and a mentor to girls. She is a Mandela Washington Fellow 2014, a Vital Voices Fellow 2015, a recipient of the Heroes Award by the Nation Media Group, and a Tony Elumelu top 1000 entrepreneurs in Africa. She was also selected among the top 10 innovators in the world by LAUNCH Nordic in September 2015.

She is the founder of Pad Heaven Initiative, an organisation that produces low-cost sanitary pads with the aim of reducing girls' absenteeism from school during their menses.

Florence has been a champion of girl child empowerment and menstrual hygiene management. She serves in the Technical working group of Menstrual Hygiene Management in the Ministry of Health, Kenya.
